Like to cook?

I’ve been saying for the past few months that I’ve really got to get my blog started again and revamp it. I finally found myself motivated enough to begin doing that last night. Recommended reading . . .

I read an article several days ago that has stuck with me, the final lines in particular, so I thought I would share it with you: In Mullingar, people talk because there is no sea, by Michael Harding in the Irish Times.

The article begins with a reference to Queen Elizabeth’s visit to Ireland, but it quickly becomes more than a story about the Queen, drifting easily to memory of another time and place, with a kind of bitter-sweet nostalgia rooted in a present moment, in the twitter of birds in an attic and an image of a monarch on the television . . .

somegreybloke talks about the Rapture

If you don’t know, a guy named Camping has said that the Rapture’s taking place at 6:00 p.m. on 21 May 2011. He hasn’t specified a time zone. 😛

Anyway, I thought this was funny.
